WHO WE ARE
Texas Juvenile Justice Providers Association (TJJPA) is a 501 c 6 professional association of juvenile justice service providers and supporters of quality services for youth and families at risk or involved in the juvenile justice system. TJJPA is committed to supporting state and local efforts designed to address the issues of at risk youth and families.
PURPOSE
Provide an advocacy forum for service providers to ensure successful outcomes for youth and families at risk of becoming involved in or already in the juvenile justice system.
VISION
Youth and families at risk or involved in the juvenile justice system will receive quality services that allow for community safety and youth success.
GOALS
Establish Standards of Best Practice for Service Providers
Engage in Legislative Advocacy
Serve as Experts in the field of Juvenile Justice
Support Training, Education and Research
Promote efforts toward delinquency, violence and substance abuse prevention
TEXAS JUVENILE JUSTICE POLICY
We are working in a collaborative effort to support communities in addressing juvenile justice issues including the state’s efforts in establishing the Texas Juvenile Justice Department and the requirements of Senate Bill 653. For the 83rd Texas legislative session we have developed a strategy that help to ensure positive outcomes for youth and their families.
MEMBERSHIP
TJJPA is the first and only juvenile justice service provider association focusing on juvenile justice issues as a 501©6 organization. Each member organization is dedicated to ensuring youth on the fringe of or currently involved with the juvenile justice system have the greatest opportunities to succeed. We endorse a continuum of services from prevention to intervention that should be provided in the community and schools where the youth live.
